ObEMMA - Observatory if Electronic Music and Media Arts - is focused on providing comprehensive insights into the electronic music and media art scenes in Portugal. Its mission is to monitor, map, diagnose, and foster research related to these creative fields.


Key Components

  • Monitoring and Mapping 
ObEMMA is a hub for tracking the development and trends within electronic music and media arts. This includes charting the emergence of new genres, venues, artistic collaborations and technological innovations.

  • Diagnosis and Research 
Through academic research, industry reports, and collaborative projects with universities and institutions, ObEMMA intends to promote in-depth analyses of the state of electronic music and media arts in Portugal.

  • Preservation and Dissemination
One of ObEMMA’s objectives is to support Portuguese artists through an online repository to share specific information and artworks, making them accessible to a global audience.

  • Educational Outreach and Public Engagement
 ObEMMA fosters educational programs aimed at both newcomers and professionals , promoting workshops, seminars and lectures on topics ranging from e-music to media arts.

  • Collaboration and Networking
ObEMMA acts as a central node in fostering connections among artists, researchers, educators, curators, producers and industry
